GCSE tutor

GCSE Maths is one of the most important qualifications to achieve in a student's educational journey.

A good GCSE Maths grade is a requirement for virtually every sixth form, college, and apprenticeship and university course.

Whatever GCSE grade you require or are targeting - a great tutor can make all the difference to achieving that goal.

How much time we spend on a particular topic depends on you & your strengths/weaknesses, but we will aim to make sure you are competent and confident in every area.

How will you help me get the grade I need?

In 31 years as a classroom teacher I have taught 1000s of students of all different abilities, personalities, levels of motivation, and target grades. You will not find a tutor more experienced in being able to get the best out of you.

We will practice all of the topic areas above - spending more time on the topics you need more confidence with.

We will find the methods of solving questions, calculator & non-calculator, that you find the easiest to remember & practice.

We will practice setting out questions carefully, showing clear working - remember I am an examiner & know what examiners are looking for!

We will build up your problem solving skills, making sure you read questions carefully & can confidently approach multi-step questions.

You will do 100s, if not 1000s, of past exam paper questions - getting you ready for the type of questions the exam board sets.

Which exam boards do you cover?

ALL OF THEM

The main UK exam boards all cover the same GCSE areas - as highlighted above.

The emphasis and style of questioning can change from board to board.

We will work with the specification for your exam board and utilise the exam papers (+ mark schemes) for your exam board.

There are differences in topic areas & exam styles for IGCSE, but again I am very experienced in teaching these specifications.
